What is it?

Descending sequences fall one step per digit — 321, 9876, the mighty 654321. A full descending sequence drops from first digit to last; a descending run is a 4+ digit slide inside a longer number, like 965432. Falling is slightly rarer than climbing because the first digit can never be zero.

How it scores

Full descending sequences score a little higher than ascending ones because fewer of them fit in the range. Runs of 4+ falling digits earn a smaller but still respectable slice.

The formula: -log2(count / 1,000,001) bits per trait, capped at 20, summed with 0.5 decay per additional trait.

Why are there fewer descending than ascending sequences?

Ascending sequences can start at 0 in theory, but leading zeros are not written, and descending sequences must start high enough to keep falling — the range trims the two families differently.

Is 654321 the best descending number?

It is the longest full descent in the game, and yes — it scores near the very top.

Does 2110 count?

It steps down by one only until the final 1→0, so 3210-style unbroken drops count, partial ones need a 4+ run to score.
